Whale Watching

Make a splash! Watch out for any of Iceland's unique marine life!

What can you see on a whale watching excursion:

 

- See the many different types of whales:

  • Orca

  • Blue whale

  • Bowhead whale

  • Moren than 20 species of Cactea

- See many other diverse species of fish as well!

Where to find these whales:

 

- Along the coasts of Iceland:

  • Reykjavík

  • Eyjafjörður bay

  • Húsavík

- Arctic and North Atlantic oceans

- Deep bodies of water around the island

When can you find the whales in Iceland:

 

- Late spring to early summer months

- April to September

Tips for a successful whale watching adventure:

 

  • Bring binoculars

  • Bring plenty of food

  • Layer accordingly and be prepared for any mishaps

  • Bring something to entertain you on this long journey.

  • Wear shoes with good traction

  • Don't forget the camera!
